Blargh
Stomach feeling queasy this morning. Probably stress-related. Trying to relax.

Not eager to go to the gym after work. Also left my workout shoes at home. Trying to decide if physical benefit of workout = or > discomfort of inadequate shoes (or just socks?) and possible stomach blah.

In other, happier news, Nightwish's "Dark Passion Play" is very good.

Yucky on the queasiness. I hope it clears up as the day goes on.

I take 6 mile walks in my mary janes, so I can't say much about wearing good shoes. Haha.

I'm glad you like Dark Passion Play! I think of the three you got, that's the one I was most worried you wouldn't like.

*still listening to Krypteria... the upbeatiness seems to keep her cruising at work*

Thanks, I hope so too. Tea, as always, is my answer, and that is helping.

I tend to get shin splints or sore arches when I work out in inadequate shoes and socks. It's not serious enough that I *couldn't* do it for one day, though.

Any particular reason you worried I wouldn't like it? I think there was more growly man-grunting in that one, was that it? (Though I'm finding that growliness doesn't grate on me as much anymore - frex, when I first listened to samples of Epica's "Divine Conspiracy," the growling kept me from wanting to buy it. Now, though, it's in my shopping cart for my next order.)

It was mostly the prevalence of the male vocals that I was concerned about, yes. Although Nightwish is less growly than, as you mentioned, Epica.

The growling does grow on you, though, although I'm always conscious of how silly it probably sounds to some people when I'm pimping the the genre at them ;)

Bwa-ha. I continue to pimp. Has Kamelot grown on you? It took a few listens, some time away, and then listening again, and then I fell hard. Dark Passion Play, Bloodangel's Cry, and The Heart of Everything were pretty much instant love, though.

Now that you've listened to it, 7 Days to the Wolves was one of the songs I wanted to put on for the Warmakers OST (for the final battles), but I also tend to be more fatalistic than the rest, so I didn't. I did use The Heart I Once Had in the first Reika OST, though.

There are silly bits, yes (I had my and Jeremy's CDs lined up on my desk, and the spread of covers made me giggle, because they're so Super Dramatic). On the other hand, all the genres of music I like best seem to have aspects like that - the melodrama of Broadway, or the cheesiness of pop, etc.

I like Kamelot, though, like you, my affection did not sprout as quickly as it did for Within Temptation, etc. I'm definitely going to get "The Black Halo" for myself, but I'll continue to listen to the other albums to see if I want to buy them. The female-fronted bands seem to hit my musical buttons more.

And, uh, knowing that you had used "The Heart I Once Had" was actually one of the reasons I bought that album. XD;;

Hrm. Apparently my comment didn't post.

It's all Super Dramatic. And I like it.

For the Heart I Once had, alas, isn't terribly representative of the rest of the album, though.

True, but since I like pretty much all the songs I'm happy.
